Place value helps us determine the value of numbers. The value of a digit depends on its position in the number. E.g. Find the value of 9 in 215 940. Write 9 as it is and make the rest of the numbers zeros. 215 940 => 000 900. So, the value of the digit 9 is ‘900’. Remember not to keep gaps in between the digits when you type the answer. E.g. Type 90000, not 90 000
