Place value helps us determine the value of numbers. The value of a digit depends on its position in the number. E.g. Find the value of 3 in 138 540. Write 3 as it is, and make the rest of the numbers zeros. 138 540 => 030 000. So, the value of the digit 3 is ‘3000’. Remember not to keep gaps in between the digits when you type the answer. E.g. Type 30000, not 30 000
