Place value helps us determine the value of numbers. The value of a digit depends on its position in the number. E.g. Find the value of 5 in 72 503. Write 5 as it is, and make the rest of the numbers zeros. 72 503 => 00 500. So, the value of the digit 5 is ‘500’. Remember not to keep gaps in between the digits when you type the answer. E.g. Type 500000, not 500 000
